CIVIC / GOVERNMENT
Horus Construction takes pride in understanding the local persona and character and of the communities in which it works by taking great care in building the civic and government buildings to meet the specific needs of each community. From larger metropolitan areas to smaller cities, Horus builds community centers and government buildings that reflect the needs and challenges associated with each project, while creating a sense of community in bringing its citizens together.
Partnering with Skanska Trident on the $148 Million Glliard Center project, Horus Construction currently has a major role in the construction and renovation of this historic building in Charleston, SC.
The center will be a world-class performing arts venue for events, including performances staged by the internationally known Spoleto Festival USA. It’s one of the largest capital projects ever undertaken by the city, which was founded in 1670.
Horus Construction was awarded the $13.4 million subcontract for masonry work on the Gaillard project. Mayor Riley said the contract is thought to be among the largest such minority contracts in state history.
